Derby Inspiration Wedding Shoot

There are times that I'm asked to help with a project that make me so excited I eat, breathe, sleep, and live the project until it's completed.  This shoot was one of those times.  It took months of planning and working closely with the photographer, Sarah, from Spottswood Photography to fully develop the idea and inspiration behind the shoot.  Once we were on the same page with inspiration, I began working on DIY projects.  The chandelier took the most time (and several disastrous rough drafts), until I landed on the final product.  I think it was worth it.  The photographers were able to capture the whimsical and romantic look I was going for.  To help with the look, I brought in the help of several local vendors, telling each vendor what we were going for, but told them to let their artistic creativity flourish. I think that is one of the components that made this day such a success!  First was the cake...anyone who knows me will know...the food is the most important part of any event to me.  I remember every meal at every wedding I've gone to.  I called the girls over at Confused Confections and they did an amazing job...it looked good enough to eat right then!  I decided there needed to be some southern charm added to the dessert table, so my family helped me make some pies and bourbon balls. They helped me eat them when it was over too.  The bouquets and boutonniere's were a no-brainer...for a unique look, go to Emplume! Next, I thought of tablescaping...how could I do that without a table?  I called Events with Design because I had heard of their unique, one-of-a-kind pieces...how could I not ask them to help?  The dress and the videographer were the most difficult to find.  I am so glad I called Ruth's Bridal...we ended up with an absolutely stunning Allure gown that couldn't have fit better with the day.  I had worked with Forever Films on a wedding a few months ago and decided to take a stab in the dark by asking them...and they said yes!

I can't express how thankful I am to all of the vendors that participated that day.  Also, I can't forget to thank the models who surged through the freezing day to get all of the amazing shots.

Just a few notes.  It has taken me several hours to figure out this picture thing.  Apparently there is NOT a way to make the pictures lay pretty on the page side by side without messing around with HTML coding...and that's not going to happen.  Blogger needs to fix this.
Also, a huge, huge, HUGE thank you to everyone who helped me personally with all of the DIY projects.

Thank you.
