Amazing Photographer

So I was browsing the internet today looking for inspiration for a new blog, when I happened upon the most amazing photograph.

The couple: Carrie and Eric
The location: Forks, Washington (I admit, I squealed when I read that...nerd).
The photographer: Aubrey Joy Photography

Now, when I see a photograph that I really enjoy, I try to find more work by the artist who took it to see if it was a fluke, or if they're noteworthy...

That's when I found www.aubreyjoyphotography.com

One word: LOVE!

It takes a moment for all of her photographs to load on her main page, but once they start popping up...wow!  The colors she gets out of seemingly normal scenes are breathtaking.  She captures the fun and true meaning behind every setting.

All I can say is that I hope, hope, cross-my-fingers, hope that one of my brides will want Aubrey Joy to shoot her wedding.

Heck, I hope Aubrey Joy will shoot MY wedding...now to just find a groom...

Diving in...

Well, I'm not sure where to begin. I suppose an introduction would be a good place to start. I'm Augelique Gross, owner of BlueQuail Events, Ltd. Co., (check out my website!) and though I'm not completely new to the wedding and event industry, I am relatively new to the Kentucky wedding and event circuit. I'm a Certified Wedding Planner, and I'm a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants. I love weddings and parties and I'm so passionate about helping everyone that comes to me have a super stylish and stress free event.

I'm so excited to dive in and get started.

I've decided I'm going to use this blog to gather and share ideas, post discount opportunities (hello savings!), and write about anything else that is exciting or interesting!

So here goes.

I have realized through the various events that I've planned that I am in love with inspiration boards. One of the best things about making them online is that you can change or add to them whenever you find something new that you're inspired by. I try to do one of these for every event that I coordinate, even if event design isn't part of the package. I find that, for me, I can visualize and focus on the individual event better if I have a board or image to look at.

Here's a sample of a board for a wedding I'm doing that's coming up. The colors are eggplant with shades of purple. They didn't need event design (the venue is already gorgeous!) but when I'm working on this event, I pull the inspiration board up so I can have a quasi-visual of the wedding!

I'm so excited about starting my blog that I'm going to offer a deal to the first bride to contact me. How does $200 off of full coordination sound? Shoot me an email at info@bluequailevents.com! Be sure to mention that you're responding to my blog and use the special phrase "Eggplant weddings are delicious" so I'll know for sure. I'll post later who the winner is.

Hope to hear from lots of you soon.
